Any current anime fan will surely have heard of the hugely popular anime Spy x Family. It was once of the most anticipated new anime series of spring 2022, and it certainly lived up to those expectations!

The story follows a spy who has to “build a family” to execute a mission, not realizing that the girl he adopts as his daughter is a telepath, and the woman he has agreed to be “married” to is a skilled assassin. Filled with action, humour, and heart-warming moments, this anime has become a favourite both at home in Japan, and abroad.

In Japan, the television show has gained the most ratings of any anime running in the country today. In a recent study from Video Research Limited, the first episodes of the series were scoring close to seven million viewers in Japan, making it not just the biggest anime series, but also the second most-watched television show in the country! It is unusual for anime to break out and overcome the mainstream TV ratings like this, so we can really see how Spy x Family has captured the nation’s hearts.

The manga series has also seen major growth in overall sales, with over 1.7 million copies sold since the anime started airing.
